Written for open_on_sunday. The theme is "betrayal". Angel and Wesley, after "Deep Down", rated G.

Angel dreamt about it later that day, after he could no longer fight the fatigue and he slept fitfully. Wesley’s scent lingered on his skin. The taste of his blood was still on his tongue. It tasted as sweet as he always thought it would, despite the bitterness that had passed between them.

Wesley had betrayed him. Angel should hate him. He had believed forgiveness was impossible. As he dreamt of grasping that strong, slender arm and Wesley’s blood flowing into his mouth, Angel didn’t taste regret or guilt or sacrifice. He tasted blood and Wesley and that was enough.
