“Look what I found abandoned outside!”
Giles glanced up from his desk to see what Buffy was excited about. She was cradling something.
“What a cute little baby! We have to keep it!” Willow squealed.
Baby?!
“We could keep it here! It looks sort of Gilesish.” Buffy said.
Giles leapt up immediately.
“Look here, we must contact the author--oh.”
Buffy was holding a kitten.
“Can we keep-”
“No!”
Buffy waved one tiny paw. “Pweeease, Mr. Giles?”
“No!”
“Mew!” said the kitten.
Giles sighed, defeated. “There’s milk in my office.”
Xander grinned. “Pussy wh-”
Giles’s flinty glare cut him off.
