I rewatched Casanova tonight and did a bunch of capping. Like others I find the blue contacts a bit distracting, but there's no doubt that David is brilliant and so much fun to watch in this, and there's lots and lots of pretty. I cap. I share.

Ho-yeah!

It isn't all about his crotch, you know. ::waves:: ::snaps fingers:: Hellooooooo!!! Are you still there? Hey!

Okay, so she certainly isn't complaining, and why should she?

He's handsome

And sensitive

And flexible

And funny

He's cute when he's down

Even when he's sick and thin and pale...hey! Get back into bed, you bad, bad boy.

That's better. Where were we?

Oh yeah.

But hey, like I said, it isn't all about his crotch.

Oh, hell, who are we kidding?

And a good time was had by all.
The End.

Um, trying to think of a PC way to put this... but is BBC in the habit of casting diversity in ways that is not, strictly speaking, historically accurate? Only I noticed Madame de Pompadour chatting with a noble lady of African descent in Girl in the Fireplace, and I notice similar casting here.

I mean, I'm torn. Because, hooray diversity, but boo historical innacuracy, you know?

Is this in fact inaccurate? I don't know whether Bellino was of African background, but I remember being told that I'd got something wrong in Set Piece, which is partly set around 1780 - that a Black woman would not have been an unusual sight in Paris at the time, as I had assumed. That's not much to go on - I wonder if we can find a history of Africans in France?

Really? But would they be part of France's nobility, as this lady appeared to be? Although... when did Madame de Pompadour rise to nobility? Maybe she wasn't noble yet herself.

And above - the lady in the background is in a very expensive gown, so I'm assuming a similar (nobility) status for her?

I'm unfamiliar with the history of different races in Europe; I'd be interested in finding out. I just know the history here in the 'States is, um... well, it's not that pretty.

A bit late to the party...

Thanks for your picspams! Especially this one... Not yet had the pleasure of seeing Casanova yet (am hoping that little problem will soon be solved!) so your spam was very much appreciated - I know what I have to look forward to! I meant to post the other day - I've friended you and hope that's ok :-)

I must just mention your Hair picspam as well... The hair... Hmmmmm.....

As I've said before - keep on spamming!
