I copied these from swmbo's journal, but I'm assuming they're the rules are the same all over.

Step One
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.


Step Two

Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.




1. I'd love some Wes/Angel icons, especially slashy ones. Romantic, sexy, funny, chummy, whatever, I'd just love some pretty Wes/Angel icons.

2. I always love Wesley fic! Preferably smutty, but I also love fics that deal with Wes in his youth or anytime pre-Buffy. For the smut, I like him with Angel, Faith, Dawn, or Lilah.

3. A Wesley magnet for my fridge. I have Spike and Xander looking at me everytime I go into the kitchen, I'd love to have Wes there too. Giles and Angel would be also be nice, but I firstly would like Wesley.

4. English chocolate. I'm most fond of Cadbury Wispas, but any kind of English choccies would be nice, or any kind of English sweets and treats. I'd also love a large jar of clotted cream.

5. Old postcards from the 1920s through 1950s of art deco buildings. I especially love cards of the old tourist motor courts, public buildings (schools, hospitals, libraries, courthouses, etc.), and I love old bridges. Can be from anywhere at all in the U.S. or Canada or the world for that matter. I'd love to have some from all the places where all y'all live. If any of y'all go to flea markets or antique malls you're sure to find something!

6. Beads! The kind for jewelry making. Any colors, but I'd prefer glass or stone as opposed to plastic. I'm new to this and my bead supply is still in the starting stages. Or a gift certificate to an online bead store. Or if you have some old beaded jewelry you don't want anymore maybe I could use the beads or the fittings to make something new. Just don't send me anything valuable! Costume jewelry is what I'm looking for.

7. Wesley or a reasonable facsimile. I want to wake up on Christmas morning and hear my mother exclaim, "Just who the hell put this good-looking Englishman under the tree?!?!?" and once I explain it all to her and I stop groping Wes and jumping up and down like a nut, we'll all sit down to coffee, cheese grits, bacon, and hash browns and then open the other prezzies.

Or I'd like a photo or other item autographed by Alexis Denisof. But my fingers are crossed for the pretty Englishman and bacon thing.
